Interview Suggestions[edit]

Laura Werner of Laura's Spanking Corner, Fulgur who wrote Geomancer, and Haley Brimley who is a ridiculously prolific author. These are my three suggestions for author related interviews and I've got more where that came from. Thanks. Candice Critic 16:37, 20 April 2008 (BST)

Okay, I'm just starting another interview and will try to contact Laura after this. Spankart 21:52, 20 April 2008 (BST)
It's been a while since you've done an interview. Are these authors unavailable? If I may suggest a couple of others for consideration, Rosewood and Lawrence Kinden are another couple of my favorites. Candice Critic 17:32, 16 June 2008 (BST)
Sorry, it's my fault, I have not yet contacted Laura. I was too busy in the last weeks to make another interview. Hopefully I'll get to it by July. Or, if someone else would like to be the interviewer... I'd be even happier. Spankart 20:17, 16 June 2008 (BST)
Hmm... I certainly see the logic in someone else being the interviewer. I certainly wouldn't want you to have to shoulder that burden all by yourself. I don't know if I'll have the time to do it with any sort of regularity, but I'll give it some thought. Candice Critic 21:22, 30 June 2008 (BST)
Yes please. There are recent developments in my private life (planning to move overseas) which mean I'll probably have less time in the coming up months for hobby activities such as these. Spankart 17:28, 1 July 2008 (BST)
I have tried but found myself unable to contact any of the above writers. I've e-mailed them (the ones for who I can find e-mails) each of them three to four times and have gotten no response. Any suggestions as to how I might contact any of them or of other writers to contact? Candice Critic 15:02, 8 September 2008 (BST)
I myself did try to contact Laura (via a friend of hers). She seems to be alive but very busy, but I asked once more today and hope for feedback. Lurking Dragon might be another great writer to interview, but I hear he's hard to reach too. Haven't tried to contact him so far, though. As for other suggestions, I'm afraid I'm not good at coming up with candidates because there aren't many whose works I have really read. Hmmm... perhaps one of the most read authors of MMSA (if they have any statistics)? Y. Lee Coyote, PJ Franklin, Naughty Little Bobby seem to be prolific authors there, for example. Spankart (talk) 17:36, 8 September 2008 (BST)
Okey dokey, interview with Haley is up. Candice Critic 19:27, 22 September 2008 (BST)
Wonderful, thanks!!! Great job. Spankart (talk) 17:28, 23 September 2008 (BST)

Interesting Picture[edit]

Hi,Spankingart.I 've found a intersting picture in the internet, but I don't know which style of spanking in it is.I 'll send it to you and let you choose.

Hi, thanks. Yes, a nice animated spanking cartoon, but I had to delete the image you uploaded because it's copyrighted and not under a free license. Spankart 10:20, 22 May 2008 (BST)

Thanks for the welcome[edit]

No, unfortunately I do not have any photos or drawings for that article. I agree that an image would improve the article greatly, however. Thanks for your general clean-up at the diaper discipline article however, it's nice to have another pair of eyes on it, I was worried I might have deviated from this wiki's policies when rewriting it since I'm relatively new here. DD 02:51, 12 June 2008 (BST)

Don't worry, it's a wiki so you can't break anything, and any contribution such as yours is very welcome. :) Keep up the good work! Spankart 21:41, 12 June 2008 (BST)
What's this wikis policies on copyrighted images? I want to upload this image on the Diaperman article, but I'm not the copyright holder. I found it on the Internet Archive of the Diaperman website (the website is rubbish now, the archives have all the good stuff). Would it be okay to upload it so long as I mentioned where I found it? DD 12:39, 18 July 2008 (BST)
Have a read of the Spanking_Art:Image_use_policy. --Roguebfl (talk) 15:05, 18 July 2008 (BST)
Or a short answer, you mustn't upload images here which are copyrighted, unless you are the copyright holder. Sorry. Spankart 16:04, 18 July 2008 (BST)
No problem. Thanks anyway. :) DD 18:04, 18 July 2008 (BST)

"Pussy Willow Day"[edit]

Hi, Spankart,

Eric here, and I haven't had a chance for a chat for a while. Main thing is that where I work, there has recently been a big Net Nanny craze and a whole of things that were easily seen are now off limits. I would like to tell them that this is hardly porn, either soft or hard, but then you really can't do that. Not having my own system, I am dependant on internet cafes and the like to reach you. But I really do want to take part in this wonderful site, and I know I can write high value stuff for it.

For example, consider the following, which I think is absolutely lovely. This was found when I searched for “bare bottom” (as you do) in A diluted version of the same thing appears in the Spanking article in Wikipedia.

I think this would make a great entry, and the only thing I want to do before creating it is get more info, so that it’s not a straight pinch from WP. For example, there are citations to Latvian sites, but I would need to get them translated.

It goes to show how silly all this banning is. Here is an entire advanced and highly literate culture, where half the population goes out and birches the NAKED bottoms of women and children on a special day devoted to that activity. Moreover, that day is the religious holiday of Palm Sunday, so the Church thinks nothing of it either.

Of course there would be battalions of men who would have eyes on some pretty girl and think of the day they would barge in on her and apply the pussy willow on her nether cheeks after they had been properly denuded, in public, and with much good-natured cheering and barracking. And it’s not just a little swat. A good hiding is in order.

Truth is that the girls would feel they were being rejected if they didn’t get their turn, and I’m sure most would leave their doors well and truly unlocked and wear the easiest knickers to remove. In fact, although these articles say the beatings are hard, they are not done with birches, and it is easy to imagine that their would be little serious pain involved. It sounds like a wonderful way to set aside a day when young men can get to see the naked buns of all those lovely gals quiver under those beautiful pussy willows. And what a great name Pussy Willow Day. It’s a bit like Halloween, a time when you can get dressed up in ways that would be banned at other times, and do things you couldn’t do normally. And isn’t that healthy? I wish we had a Pussy Willow Day here. What a treat to get a few good-natured blokes and tan the buns of some lovely lasses as they laugh and scream. Anyway, I have never created an article from scratch before, but I would like to do this, unless you have someone better in mind. And a good illustration of these activities would be nice too. I do hope that it is a tradition that is not going out of style either. A day when a whole religious nation gets to do a lot of bare bottom spanking, and everybody takes it in the best of spirits.

Folkloristic spanking traditions

In Latvija there is tradition of hard spanking on Palm Sunday (called Pussy willow Sunday) morning. Spanker should sneak in the potential spankee bedroom and wake spankee up. Usually children and women are spanked. Whipping is done with pussy willow branches or (rarely) birch. Most of a cases this ritual spanking is done after remowing all clothes from posterior - on the bare buttocks. It is believed that positive energy from trees are coming to person who is spanked. In the folkloric tradition the variation was to go spank people not in the bedroom, but in the neighbourhood. In that case usually young men cath girl or young women and order to bend over for spanking. [16] Spanking on the bare bottom was optional, but in some areas naked whipping with pussy willow branches has been done too.

Religious customs

On the first day of the lunar Chinese new year holidays, a week-long 'Spring Festival', the most important festival for Chinese people all over the world, thousands of Chinese visit the Taoist Dong Lung Gong temple in Tungkang to go through the century-old ritual to get rid of bad luck, men by receiving spankings and women by being whipped (as in the Ancient Roman -unisex- Lupercalia); the number of strokes to being administered (always lightly) by the temple staff is decided in either case by the god Wang Ye and by burning incense and tossing two pieces of wood, after which all go home happily, believing their luck will improve. [17] One prime example of a pagan Czech Easter celebration is the "pomlazka".[18] Farmers used to believe that a strong whipping after the winter period guaranteed health, prosperity, and most importantly a good harvest. It is only the women who are given a good spanking on bare posteriors with whips made of willow twigs, decorated with colourful ribbons (as if a little bit of decoration would help to ease the pain!). It is mainly younger boys who go from door to door, hoping to thrash a few girls on naked buttocksto get some eggs in return, while singing traditional Easter carols. After strong spanking boys come and throw girls in a stream, or put your girl head under a water pipe to be sure to give a good shower[19]

Great find, Eric! If you can do it from your internet cafes, please go ahead and create new articles for this. We have a category Category:Spanking-related traditions for exactly these topics. I suggest that you create a separate new article for each tradition (Pussy Willow Day/Pomlázka), Chinese spring festival whipping in Tungkang), and then maybe one summarizing article named Folkloristic spanking traditions. If you need any help, just ask me. Good luck! Spankart 12:38, 15 June 2008 (BST)

Empress Theodora[edit]

Thanks for the encouragement, Spankart! I think that is the way to go, each INDIVIDUAL example has its own page, with embellishments and discussion and piccies I hope, and there is a general page that cites ALL such cultural practices. They seem to predominate amongst Russian and Slavic countries and in rural areas, where they have strong fertility symbols. I specially like the idea that the wood brings good moral forces to those who receive the whippings. What a way to think about it? You see a child improve his behaviour after having his bare bottom striped by a pussy willow, so you imagine the idea that there is something inherently moral and beneficial in the switches themselves, and begin to think they should be used on a more regular basis, and on the women too! Makes sense to me.

But the reason I wrote in today, is that near that article was another which really got my fancy. This one is perfectly true and has been documented. I very much like the idea of writing this story down, with some visualisations of my own, as part of a category of "Famous Historical Spankings". There is one that I particularly liked in which the medieval poet and academic Abelard was hired to teach the young Heloise Latin and the Classics, in her father's house. Well, her father gave Abelard full rights to treat her as he would any boy student, in other words to whip her. Female students were unheard of at the time, and Abelard fell deeply in love with his young student. As the lessons were given at her home, and under her father's nose as it were, any long silences from the study room would become suspicion. The couple invented the delightful solution (described in Abelard's autobiography) of him giving her occasional bare bottom spankings during the lessons so that the slaps, and Heloise's cries, would confirm to everyone outside that Heloise was getting the best possible education. Of couse, she was sto say that the blows became like the sweetest honey, and her love for him grew beyound measure. If you look up the Talk Page for Abelard in WP, and find Point 15 you will see my comments there, including as stoush with a rather obnoxious lesbian who tried to excise the entire passage, without success.

There are of course numerous documented famous spankings, and I think they should be kept in a category separate to fictional ones.

But I will get to work on these as well. Also considering such topics as "Spanking Phrases" danced a merry jig, did not need a stove to warm a girls bottom, and so on

Here below is the actual account of Saturnius's whipping by Empress Theodora as described by a contemporary source

The Empress Theodora is reported to have spanked a courtier: “ Among the large number of men whom she treated this way were Leontius, who occupied the position of Referendarius, and Saturninus, son of Hermogenes the Magister, both of them just married. This Saturninus had married a second cousin, a maiden of good birth and excellent character, whose father Cyril had approved the match, Hermogenes having died earlier. No sooner had they shut themselves into the bridal chamber than Theodora seized the groom and carried him off to another chamber, where in spite of his heartbroken protestations he was married to Chrysomallo’s daughter. This Chrysomallo had once been a dancer and later a courtesan, but at the time of this incident she was living in the Palace with another Chrysomallo and Indaro. For there it was that after abandoning woman’s oldest profession and the life of the theatre they had established their headquarters. When Saturninus had slept with his new bride and found that she had been deflowered, he informed one of his intimate friends that the girl he had married was nothing but damaged goods. When this comment came to Theodora's ears, she said that he was showing off and had no right to be so puffed up, and ordered her servants to bend him over like any schoolboy. Then she gave his behind a fearsome beating and told him not to talk such nonsense in future. ” —Procopius, Secret History

Thanks, I made a start and created the pages Folkloristic spanking traditions and Famous historical spankings. Please go ahead from there and create the individual articles you'd like to write. Spankart 11:04, 22 June 2008 (BST)
I found the time and also created Easter and spanking. BTW, please sign your edits on talk pages with four tildes, this creates a signature with a time stamp that makes it much easier to follow discussions. Spankart 13:17, 22 June 2008 (BST)

Have you considered adding Spankart (talk) to your nickname field under you preferences? it will auto-add a link to your talk page when you sign a page. It is the code I use in mine. --Roguebfl (talk) 16:11, 6 August 2008 (BST)

Yes, not a bad idea. Done. Spankart (talk) 21:20, 6 August 2008 (BST)

Ai said if you email him the favicon for the wiki he will fix it --Roguebfl (talk) 05:20, 26 August 2008 (BST)

I did, 2 weeks ago. He probably didn't get to it yet. Spankart (talk) 16:44, 12 September 2008 (BST)
Well it is there now 8) --Roguebfl (talk) 01:15, 15 September 2008 (BST)
Aah! Much better :) Spankart (talk) 17:20, 15 September 2008 (BST)

RE: Interviews[edit]

Hi SA, GM here. I'd like to nominate Agragar515 for an online interview. He's a relative newcomer to this field, and already one of the more outstanding contributors to AnimeOTK (IMHO). I (for one) would be interested in knowing more about the development of his work and ideas. Ciao, GM Blackshade9 10:35, 12 September 2008 (BST) .

Thanks for the suggestion! But first I'll put Agragar515 on our to-do list, and I'll wait some more before I'll approach him because I also like the other suggestion of interviewing one or two writers, for a change. Spankart (talk) 16:48, 12 September 2008 (BST)
On that note, I've gotten a hold of Haley Brimley and have started interviewing him. Candice Critic 20:19, 12 September 2008 (BST)
Oh cool! :) Spankart (talk) 09:12, 13 September 2008 (BST)
Also Y.Lee has responded and I've just sent him some questions. With my hectic schedule it'll be a bit before I'll be ready to post them, but there are two interviews on the way.  :) Candice Critic 04:53, 17 September 2008 (BST)

The Blog Page[edit]

Hey Spankart, I would really like to recruit someone to manage the links on the Blogs page. I periodically add and remove things, but this page needs special attention that no one is giving it. It just requires a dedicated person to manage those links and add new ones like Bonnie did before the site moved. I think that if we posted a message to this effect on the page it would help and someone would recruit themselves. Something to the effect of All users are encouraged to edit this page and keep it up to date, but the wiki is seeking an individual or individuals who are willing to devote special attention, in the form of seeking out and adding new blogs as well as marking deleted blogs, on this page. This is just a thought.Anonyq2005 06:11, 9 October 2008

Have you tried getting in contact Bonnie first to make sure she knows about the move? --Roguebfl (talk) 00:25, 10 October 2008 (BST)
I contacted Bonnie just now. Spankart (talk) 20:17, 10 October 2008 (BST)

Uploading .svg images[edit]

In the past I've uploaded one ( Image:CousinTree.svg) in the past, I have another one I would like to upload, but it now telling me unsupported type (hence not aloud to upload it) --Roguebfl (talk) 18:24, 13 October 2008 (BST)

I guess we need to get a hold of Stoner or Ai; here are instructions on how to enable SVG support in MediaWiki. Spankart (talk) 18:51, 13 October 2008 (BST)

Well now that they are working again, I've have added the copyright images to the copyright tags. The great them about them is they are vector images, so they scale/resize perfectly! 8) --Roguebfl (talk) 02:20, 17 October 2008 (BST)

Open Office Wiki Editor[edit]

I have just found Sun Wiki Publisher it is an extension for Open Office

The Sun Wiki Publisher enables you to create Wiki articles on MediaWiki servers without having to know the syntax of the MediaWiki markup language. Publish your new and existing documents transparently with the Writer to a wiki page.

All important text attributes such as headings, hyperlinks, lists and simple tables are supported. Even images are supported as long as they have already been uploaded to the wiki site. An automatic upload of images is currently not supported.

It is the perfect extension for all users who want to make existing documentations and specifications available on MediaWiki servers. Just load the document and call the Extension with 'Send – MediaWiki Server'. A dialog will guide you to publish your document.

Requires StarOffice 8 (Update 10 or higher) or (2.4 or higher)

I though people here might be interested in it --Roguebfl (talk) 21:38, 17 October 2008 (BST)

Thanks, interesting! I put it on Spanking Art:Community Portal. Spankart (talk) 09:13, 18 October 2008 (BST)

Neither BareBot nor Roguebfl can edit YouPorn due to the spam filter --Roguebfl (talk) 23:52, 19 October 2008 (BST)

Should work now, I added it to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. Spankart (talk) 16:41, 20 October 2008 (BST)
Well now that it been editing it might be a good idea to removed to prevent the spam from coming back ;) --Roguebfl (talk) 16:49, 20 October 2008 (BST)
I don't remember any spam, so I'll leave it whitelisted for the time being. Spankart (talk) 17:10, 20 October 2008 (BST)

In working on the Template:18+ substitution I have found a few pages with (Warning: 21+). What do you want done with these? --Roguebfl (talk) 14:39, 20 October 2008 (BST)

Ideally let's make a Template:21+. Spankart (talk) 16:35, 20 October 2008 (BST)

Can you please translate the description you put on Image:Aeusserliche_Proportionen_2.jpg --Roguebfl (talk) 16:58, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Broken Image[edit]

Image:Albert_Anker_Das_Schulexamen_Detail.jpg has it summery information intact, but the image itself is missing. --Roguebfl (talk) 17:56, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

It's not missing, it's just a cropped part of the linked image, flipped horizontally. Or did you mean you can't see the image here in the wiki? Spankart (talk) 19:40, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
yes that what I means, i can not see the image --Roguebfl (talk) 20:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... all I can say is that I can see the image. Perhaps try Ctrl+F5? Spankart (talk) 20:18, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I can see it when I click on the link below "No higher resolution available." and as a test i loaded in IE, which the thumbnail shows (but not in firefox which is my normal browser) which leads me to say the thumbnail is broken, in that it was malformed, and firefox is auto blocking it as malformes are often a virus gateway, were as IE is being it uses "close enough is good enough" --Roguebfl (talk) 21:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm using Firefox too and I can see it. My Firefox version is 3.0.4, running on Vista. Spankart (talk) 21:17, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Ditto, so it might be an addon on my part then 8/ --Roguebfl (talk) 21:19, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Or maybe try if clearing your cache will fix it. Spankart (talk) 22:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Do We Need A New Host Again?[edit]

I recently visited my anime otk account and got a pm saying they were thinking of closing the site due to lack of funds. What does this mean for us? Anonyq2005

Not quite yet. User:Ai does not want to close, but the cost are getting to much for him. There part of those could be doen by helping him find a suitable add company.Project:New host we did agree to adds on the site, not hard as wikia also had adds.--Roguebfl (talk) 23:45, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, and that's about as much as I can say at this point of time too. Advertisements and personal donations will pay for the cost of running the site. Before they shut down the site, I think our hosts will go the way of placing more ads, and this may also include ads here in the wiki. Spankart (talk) 17:30, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Merry Christmas[edit]

A Merry Christmas to you, and hope you like Australia. I would like to visit it to, some day ;-) Greetings from Qqll --Qqll 21:46, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, and a Merry Christmas to you too; greetings from Down Under to Sweden! Spankart (talk) 19:56, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

By the way, I have translated the first two parts of "I huvudet på en tioåring" to english, and soon the two other finished parts. Do you know were I could put it up so that other people than I can read it? Thanks. --Qqll 22:30, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah Merry Christmas, SA. Enjoying the Aussie summer? Ciao, Blackshade9 01:24, 26 December 2008 (UTC) .
Yep, it's really something different to have Xmas and New Year in the hot summer, with beach, shorts and t-shirts, and I'm indeed enjoying it. I still have no proper Internet connection, so please excuse my current silence. Spankart (talk) 02:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Merry Christmas, I'm out of town visiting with my lil bro's family. --Roguebfl (talk) 04:55, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Same to you, and a happy new year! Catch ya later when I'm online again. Cheers, Spankart (talk) 02:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Nice information, thanks. I guess I've been on that page before, and we could use some of the facts mentioned there. Spankart (talk) 12:38, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Please Remove[edit]

Hi Spankart

Would you please remove these two images? 01 - Erotic Art Museum Hamburg.jpg 02 - Erotic Art Museum Exhibit.jpg

I screwed up when I uploaded them and have now re-uploaded them with the correct titling.

Thanks domino

Done. Spankart (talk) 12:41, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for those - would you also please remove Image:117 1765 r1.jpg and the page School Museum Weavertown, USA

Thanks domino

About Spanking Art Category[edit]

the follow pages are locked so you are the one that need to do this up date:

They need Category:About Spanking Art changed to so that the show up alphabetically by page name, rather than by namespace. --Roguebfl (talk) 19:43, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Done. --Spankart (talk) 00:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Woot!, thanks --Roguebfl (talk) 00:32, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Clothing stores[edit]

Should we have a page for stores the sell spanking clothes and other fetish clothes such as [ Never Grow up]? --Roguebfl (talk) 00:43, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I think the best place depends on the range of what the shop sells. If it's a harder-to find item such as a spank skirt or drop-seat pajamas, best put the link on that article. If the shop sells different products of the spanking clothing or fetish clothing category, then best put it in these articles. And if the shop is really good and something special, you could give it its own article. --Spankart (talk) 00:55, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Well this this one constates an AB stuff, but are soon droop seat and custom orders, they plan on doing ageplay stuff in general. It is the Custom stuff that made me think that a special page on "kink friendly" clothing and costuming would be a good idea --Roguebfl (talk) 01:05, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Then feel free to open a new page for that, maybe Custom order kinky clothes shops, List of spanking and fetish clothes shops or List of kinky clothes shops, depending on where you want to go if you plan to expand it. And maybe link this list from spanking product shops. --Spankart (talk) 01:17, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

You about?[edit]

I haven't seen in about 2 weeks, about the time of the fires in NSW. If you ok please check in --Roguebfl (talk) 09:15, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Rogue, sorry, I'm okay. I am currently travelling and have very limited Internet time. Otherwise I'm fine and enjoying beautiful Australia. Cu, Spankart (talk) 18:20, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Possible find[edit]

this painting is apparently on show at the Kaluga Art Museum. --Roguebfl (talk) 05:49, 16 April 2009 (BST)

Boy! That's a fantastic find, Rogue! It's from Colin Farrell's cp image collecion. So far I cold not find out the name of the artist, but we could try contacting the museum staff. Anyway I agree with Colin Farrell's dating the painting to the 19th century (or early 20th), and think it is very likely public domain. --Spankart (talk) 06:55, 16 April 2009 (BST)

Wikia moved to creative commons[edit]

wikia:Licensing (and Wikipedia) has changed from GFDL to CC-BY-SA --Roguebfl (talk) 06:02, 22 June 2009 (BST)

Finally! I've anticipated this and am glad for it. I think we should follow Wikipedia and do the same move. See also wikia licensing update . --Spankart (talk) 06:39, 28 June 2009 (BST)
I agree, CC-BY-SA requirements are much better suited to reference material, if for no other reasons than a CC-BY-SA printout on requires a footer, where a GFDL printout require ~5 pages of license to be distributed with every copy.--Roguebfl (talk) 07:40, 28 June 2009 (BST)

More quoted stories excerpts and original media[edit]

I'm seeing moar and moar stories and original art being uploaded here recently and I think this is to be encouraged. If you can think of some ways of recatagorising the story/novel sections to draw more attention and add weight to them, I'm quite sure I can get a few authors of stories I know to pubish excerpts and pages on said stories and comic series (in some cases this will include pictures!)

If that interests you?
I think a new campaign on AotK to raise awareness and attract more articles is in order - especially since AI has yet to recode that damned Wiki button on the AotK homepage yet. RobM 02:19, 23 June 2009 (BST)

I think this is a great idea. Much as I love, it really focuses on the image driven artists and seeing other kinds of artists highlighted as well would be awesome. You've got all kinds of pull at AotK so I think if you suggest it, they will come. So to speak... So... good luck, I hope your influence works wonders. Candice Critic 05:39, 23 June 2009 (BST)
I agree, and want to thank Candice Critic for the work. As I see it, the best way to give the story/novel/series articles more weight in the wiki is threefold: a) Fill them with as many details as possible. What is special about it, why does it deserve our attention, what's the contents, plot, genre, length? What pairings (e.g. F/m), anything else that might interest the reader (e.g. caning, severe, corner time)? When was the work first published, and where? Did it appear in print form? Where can it be found online? b) Put it in the "Stories" or "Novels" category by adding the appropriate category link to the bottom of the article. c) Link to the new article from other articles. Definitely from the author's article, but also from other articles that are related. For example, A Tale of Two Tails is linked from Anthropomorphic animals. This will give more weight to the works and will make them better found. --Spankart (talk) 07:22, 28 June 2009 (BST)
I was also thinking adding both artists and authors to the navigation bar at the side of each page linking to the contents of the catagories. As much as this Wiki is a reference to spanking and BDSM in general - if it wishes to be a put a heavy emphisis on art that might be an interesting step. I was playing around also with the idea of suggestion a two-tier approach to artists and authors. Candice Critic did good work as you say, creating a dozen or more articles - but they lack major content or pictures. Would it be concievable to create a sub-catagory within the artists section for artists who don't have stub articles and have media?
I've got permission from several more artists and authors to put in example images and exceprts from their work and will be working on that very soon. If you check AotK you'll find a nice thread there with a half-dozen candidates also volunteering for interviews. One or two arn't really 'important' people, but the rest you might find very interesting candiates. RobM 15:06, 28 June 2009 (BST)
That's an excellent suggestion, RobM! I put an Artists and Authors link into the sidebar; I think it's better to link to the list instead of the category though, ideally the list should include all artists/authors plus it lists the wanted ones.
If you tell me of any artists that have no article but have media uploaded here, I will gladly write the stub articles. As to interviews, unfortunately my travel leaves me too little time to conduct any interviews at the moment, but maybe Candice would like to do another interview, or any other volunteers? --Spankart (talk) 09:06, 1 July 2009 (BST)
It's been a while since I tried contacting authors. I could maybe give it a try but I too am pretty busy. Candice Critic 05:53, 4 July 2009 (BST)

Image removal[edit]

How long should we wait for compliance with the image policy? Fmspankingart uploaded Image:Fmspankingarth7.JPG‎ and Image:Fmspankingartd2.jpg‎ back in May and listed the license as promotional. I drop them a note on their talk page the next day about the image policy. and haven't seen them again since. They are their images. I was was about to make a page for their site and use them when I noticed the license was never fixed. --Roguebfl (talk) 05:37, 11 August 2009 (BST)

I deleted the images. Thanks Rogue. --Spankart (talk) 11:57, 12 August 2009 (BST)

Is Riis the same artist as this and this ? --Roguebfl (talk) 04:45, 11 September 2009 (BST)

I think the majority of the images in this gallery are probably Riis's. I'm not sure if all are. Some look slightly different in style. Hard to say since he doesn't sign his artwork. --Spankart (talk) 23:08, 14 September 2009 (BST)
Well when collected they were all attributed to the same artist 8) But it's good to have a name to place to them. --Roguebfl (talk) 23:11, 14 September 2009 (BST)
Although no expert, I think there's either three different artists total drawing those works, or one artist who went through three periods over his drawing life. As you say, they're not signed, its a nightmare but going by the style of drawing Eyes, noses, mouths and legs I'd say there are notable differences between a few pics to the others.
And although a less good determiner, I've found artists who like to draw Austere Men punishing their Boy (With inflection) in a formal manner, less likely to vary and start drawing F/m en masse in highly sexualised images.
I really couldn't be certain though. RobM 03:09, 15 September 2009 (BST)

Spam filter[edit]

Have just tried adding an author and my original text which included a link to the site where this particular authot's stories can be found was rejected by the wiki spam filter for some strange reason. Suggestions? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Februs (talkcontribs) 23:18, 24 September 2009 (UTC-4)

I have added spanking library to the spam white list. --Roguebfl (talk) 05:26, 25 September 2009 (BST)
Dare I ask why ED is on the whitelist? RobM 11:45, 25 September 2009 (BST)
Sorry, I don't remember. We may have had a link to them, somewhere, we might even still have one, but we'd need to ask BareBot to find out where, as the normal search function doesn't seem to find URLs. --Spankart (talk) 12:36, 25 September 2009 (BST)
No worries, just curious. I love ED but I'm under illusions what sort of site it is~ RobM 15:07, 25 September 2009 (BST)

Spanking art in spanish[edit]

Hello! We are creating a new wiki based in your wiki "spanking" and the english version link appears in spanish version. We are making this page to spanish people, who want learn more about spanking :D -- 18:42, 18 October 2009 (BST)

Hi, I noticed you Spanish wiki is on wikia. Are you aware we had to move off of wikia? —Roguebfl (talk) 19:04, 18 October 2009 (BST)
Hello, so you are creating a Spanish version of this wiki? That's a very good idea. I wish you all the best for your project, and as soon as you have a bit more contents we will be happy to officially link to you. I would like to ask you to please create your own logo, though, and not use ours. And please make sure when you reuse our images that you follow the terms of the respective license. This is not correct because you are just saying "Este archivo está licenciado con una licencia libre" (This file is licensed under a free license) whereas you will need to say the exact license, in this case GFDL, and the author/artist, in this case Februaryleaf. --Spankart (talk) 11:58, 19 October 2009 (BST)
Well, that didn't last long. Kicked less than a month later and their cached pages have finally expired. 16:11, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes. And they never bothered to correct all the license errors even after being told repeatedly. Too bad. If any of the people who started that Azotaina Wiki project reads this, please contact me if you want to restart the project with a different host. The Spanking Art wiki would definitely benefit from multiple language versions, so I would like to help you get started. --Spankart (talk) 09:57, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Movie poster and book cover art[edit]

For articles about specific films, can we include the image of the theater poster and/or DVD box art under the "fair use" (or some other) policy as Wikipedia does? Same question for book covers: can an article about a vintage book show the cover from a recent reprint?. -- (Jameslovebirch, Nov. 12)

No sorry, we do not permit copyrighted images under fair use at this time. See Spanking Art:Image use policy for more on this topic. For book covers, it depends on the cover. If the cover image is a public domain image, then I believe a reproduction of the book cover is not an infringement of copyrights irrespective of whether it is old or a recent reprint. See Image:Frank and i.jpg for such an example. I may be wrong on this, though. If the cover art is recent (from after the 1930s), then there's a high chance of it still being copyrighted and we can't use it here. Category:Books has 3 more examples of book photos.

Broken Images[edit]

Hey, I noticed a couple of broken images (which distorted the front page) I determined the cause to be the use of special characters in the image title. I reuploaded one removing the é which caused the problem, and deleted the other (two copies of the same image) as there was no licencing information for it. In future to fix this issue all you need to do is reupload the image replacing any special characters with a suitable substitute.

- Ai 22:26, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

I personally would prefer a real fix of course -- we did not have this problem with thumbnail creation for images that have special characters in the file name before October 2008 -- but I had already talked to Stoner last year about this and he couldn't find out the cause either. --Spankart (talk) 19:44, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
