Women compare the beauty of their buttocks with the Callipygian Venus: La Comparaison by Jean-Frédéric Schall.

Pygoscopia (from Ancient Greek "πυγή" pugḗ ("buttocks") and "σκοπιά" skopiá ("watchtower", "sentry", "viewpoint")) means the observance of someone's buttocks.

Pygoscopia is typically found in the following scenario:

  • the observed person has attractive buttocks (see also callipygian),
  • that person's buttocks are visible, either naked or clothed,
  • the observing person has a liking for buttocks (see also pygophilia).
