Image licenses[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:30sai9spanking5m15s.jpg however what's it's copyright status (aka what licensees is it under?) —  Roguebfl   talk    contribs    email   02:32, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Tyciol, please specify the license of this image, otherwise we have to delete it. --Spankart (talk) 17:40, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Tyciol, Anime screen caps unless the anime itself is old enough to be in the public domain, [~pre 1920] then the screen shot is at best fair use, which isn't a valid free use license for this wiki to use under the current policies. —  Roguebfl   talk    contribs    email   21:08, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Is the reason we're able to use File:1230464402072.gif because it's hosted on Uncyclopedia and not here? Couldn't I just upload the shots there and then link them here? Ty 23:45, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
That's exactly right, as it not part if this site's database hence not cover by this site's GFDL license. Other site's licensees are up to those sites and Uncommon's site is host by our host and the set it up so we can use their files. —  Roguebfl   talk    contribs    email   01:59, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Interesting, will have to look into that tactic. I noticed a copy of it at CN Uncyc but not at the main one. Thinking I might be mixing up and looking in the wrong place. Ty 17:43, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia and wikia are having issues. Uncommons can be found here —  Roguebfl   talk    contribs    email   23:20, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey Ty[edit]

File:NetballSPANKING001.jpg, thumb Just thought I'd leave these here :). Ciao, Simon/Gauis Marius SimonKirby (talk) 03:43, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Image licenses missing[edit]

Hello Tyciol, you forgot to specify the license information when you uploaded File:Alden863.jpg and File:GretaGarrison.jpg. Did the artist Alden863 release these works under a free license, and if so, which one? Without a license we have to delete the images, so please clarify. --Spankart (talk) 11:00, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

I found the image in this November 9th reddit post by https://www.reddit.com/user/allycat863/ who I assume is Alden since the title is "I fixed one of Ben Garrison’s awful cartoons".
The thread is still open to comment so I can ask. Hopefully they reply to this.
Do you have a list of which license codes are accepted here?
I guess this means we can't upload spanking gifs from anime? Is there maybe a related wiki where we could do this? Fandom wouldn't allow it, maybe Miraheze?
For example I would love to add https://i.imgur.com/MB2EL0o.gif to the Fan article and explain that the term isn't just for enthusiasts, but also a spanking implement. Ty 21:37, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
I moved your reply to here so the discussion stays in one place, if that's okay with you. Yes, we have a list of licenses which are accepted here: see Spanking Art:Image use policy. You can upload images, such as spanking gifs, only if the copyright holder has published them under a free license. This is not usually the case with commercial products like manga or anime, although there is nothing that would stop an artist or animator from using their artwork both commercially and releasing it under a free license at the same time. I'll wait for a few days more before deleting the images with missing free licenses. As to how the copyright holder can put their work under a free license: They can just write something like that below the image: "Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this image under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 License CC-BY-SA", ideally with a link to: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/. That'll do.
You can try uploading unfree work e.g. to http://jpe.gs/wiki/Main_Page (Uncyclomedia Commons, the media repository of Uncyclopedia). See also the above thread "Image licenses" on this page from 2013. --Spankart (talk) 16:41, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
I now deleted the images. --Spankart (talk) 20:20, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

So, I heard...[edit]

...that you were looking for vintage bloomer shots. Are these the kind you were talking about?

Thanks, you're welcome. SimonKirby (talk) 11:57, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
