Interview Suggestions[edit]

I have tried but found myself unable to contact any of the above writers. I've e-mailed them (the ones for who I can find e-mails) each of them three to four times and have gotten no response. I myself did try to contact Laura (via a friend of hers). She seems to be alive but very busy, but I asked once more today and hope for feedback. Lurking Dragon might be another great writer to interview, but I hear he's hard to reach too. Haven't tried to contact him so far, though. As for other suggestions, I'm afraid I'm not good at coming up with candidates because there aren't many whose works I have really read. Hmmm... perhaps one of the most read authors of MMSA (if they have any statistics)? Y. Lee Coyote, PJ Franklin, Naughty Little Bobby seem to be prolific authors there, for example. No, unfortunately I do not have any photos or drawings for that article. I agree that an image would improve the article greatly, however. What's this wikis policies on copyrighted images? I want to upload this image on the Diaperman article, but I'm not the copyright holder. I found it on the Internet Archive of the Diaperman website (the website is rubbish now, the archives have all the good stuff). Would it be okay to upload it so long as I mentioned where I found it? "Pussy Willow Day"[edit]

Hi, Spankart,

Eric here, and I haven't had a chance for a chat for a while. Main thing is that where I work, there has recently been a big Net Nanny craze and a whole of things that were easily seen are now off limits. I would like to tell them that this is hardly porn, either soft or hard, but then you really can't do that. Not having my own system, I am dependant on internet cafes and the like to reach you. But I really do want to take part in this wonderful site, and I know I can write high value stuff for it.

For example, consider the following, which I think is absolutely lovely. This was found when I searched for “bare bottom” (as you do) in Answers.com. A diluted version of the same thing appears in the Spanking article in Wikipedia.

I think this would make a great entry, and the only thing I want to do before creating it is get more info, so that it’s not a straight pinch from WP. For example, there are citations to Latvian sites, but I would need to get them translated.

It goes to show how silly all this banning is. Here is an entire advanced and highly literate culture, where half the population goes out and birches the NAKED bottoms of women and children on a special day devoted to that activity. Moreover, that day is the religious holiday of Palm Sunday, so the Church thinks nothing of it either.

Of course there would be battalions of men who would have eyes on some pretty girl and think of the day they would barge in on her and apply the pussy willow on her nether cheeks after they had been properly denuded, in public, and with much good-natured cheering and barracking. And it’s not just a little swat. A good hiding is in order.

Truth is that the girls would feel they were being rejected if they didn’t get their turn, and I’m sure most would leave their doors well and truly unlocked and wear the easiest knickers to remove. In fact, although these articles say the beatings are hard, they are not done with birches, and it is easy to imagine that their would be little serious pain involved. It sounds like a wonderful way to set aside a day when young men can get to see the naked buns of all those lovely gals quiver under those beautiful pussy willows. And what a great name Pussy Willow Day. It’s a bit like Halloween, a time when you can get dressed up in ways that would be banned at other times, and do things you couldn’t do normally. And isn’t that healthy? I wish we had a Pussy Willow Day here. What a treat to get a few good-natured blokes and tan the buns of some lovely lasses as they laugh and scream. Anyway, I have never created an article from scratch before, but I would like to do this, unless you have someone better in mind. And a good illustration of these activities would be nice too. I do hope that it is a tradition that is not going out of style either. A day when a whole religious nation gets to do a lot of bare bottom spanking, and everybody takes it in the best of spirits.

Folkloristic spanking traditions

In Latvija there is tradition of hard spanking on Palm Sunday (called Pussy willow Sunday) morning. Spanker should sneak in the potential spankee bedroom and wake spankee up. Usually children and women are spanked. Whipping is done with pussy willow branches or (rarely) birch. Most of a cases this ritual spanking is done after remowing all clothes from posterior - on the bare buttocks. It is believed that positive energy from trees are coming to person who is spanked. In the folkloric tradition the variation was to go spank people not in the bedroom, but in the neighbourhood. Empress Theodora[edit]

Thanks for the encouragement, Spankart! I think that is the way to go, each INDIVIDUAL example has its own page, with embellishments and discussion and piccies I hope, and there is a general page that cites ALL such cultural practices. They seem to predominate amongst Russian and Slavic countries and in rural areas, where they have strong fertility symbols. I specially like the idea that the wood brings good moral forces to those who receive the whippings. What a way to think about it? You see a child improve his behaviour after having his bare bottom striped by a pussy willow, so you imagine the idea that there is something inherently moral and beneficial in the switches themselves, and begin to think they should be used on a more regular basis, and on the women too! Makes sense to me.

But the reason I wrote in today, is that near that article was another which really got my fancy. This one is perfectly true and has been documented. I very much like the idea of writing this story down, with some visualisations of my own, as part of a category of "Famous Historical Spankings". There is one that I particularly liked in which the medieval poet and academic Abelard was hired to teach the young Heloise Latin and the Classics, in her father's house. Well, her father gave Abelard full rights to treat her as he would any boy student, in other words to whip her. Female students were unheard of at the time, and Abelard fell deeply in love with his young student. As the lessons were given at her home, and under her father's nose as it were, any long silences from the study room would become suspicion. The couple invented the delightful solution (described in Abelard's autobiography) of him giving her occasional bare bottom spankings during the lessons so that the slaps, and Heloise's cries, would confirm to everyone outside that Heloise was getting the best possible education. Of couse, she was sto say that the blows became like the sweetest honey, and her love for him grew beyound measure. If you look up the Talk Page for Abelard in WP, and find Point 15 you will see my comments there, including as stoush with a rather obnoxious lesbian who tried to excise the entire passage, without success.

There are of course numerous documented famous spankings, and I think they should be kept in a category separate to fictional ones.

But I will get to work on these as well. Also considering such topics as "Spanking Phrases" danced a merry jig, did not need a stove to warm a girls bottom, and so on

The Blog Page[edit]

Hey Spankart, I would really like to recruit someone to manage the links on the Blogs page. I periodically add and remove things, but this page needs special attention that no one is giving it. It just requires a dedicated person to manage those links and add new ones like Bonnie did before the site moved. I think that if we posted a message to this effect on the page it would help and someone would recruit themselves. Something to the effect of All users are encouraged to edit this page and keep it up to date, but the wiki is seeking an individual or individuals who are willing to devote special attention, in the form of seeking out and adding new blogs as well as marking deleted blogs, on this page. I can see it when I click on the link below "No higher resolution available." and as a test i loaded in IE, which the thumbnail shows (but not in firefox which is my normal browser) which leads me to say the thumbnail is broken, in that it was malformed, and firefox is auto blocking it as malformes are often a virus gateway, were as IE is being it uses "close enough is good enough" --Roguebfl ^(talk) 21:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I think the best place depends on the range of what the shop sells. If it's a harder-to find item such as a spank skirt or drop-seat pajamas, best put the link on that article. If the shop sells different products of the spanking clothing or fetish clothing category, then best put it in these articles. Boy! That's a fantastic find, Rogue! It's from Colin Farrell's cp image collecion. So far I cold not find out the name of the artist, but we could try contacting the museum staff. Image removal[edit]

How long should we wait for compliance with the image policy? Fmspankingart uploaded Image:Fmspankingarth7.JPG‎ and Image:Fmspankingartd2.jpg‎ back in May and listed the license as promotional. I drop them a note on their talk page the next day about the image policy. and haven't seen them again since. They are their images. Although no expert, I think there's either three different artists total drawing those works, or one artist who went through three periods over his drawing life. As you say, they're not signed, its a nightmare but going by the style of drawing Eyes, noses, mouths and legs I'd say there are notable differences between a few pics to the others.

And although a less good determiner, I've found artists who like to draw Austere Men punishing their Boy (With inflection) in a formal manner, less likely to vary and start drawing F/m en masse in highly sexualised images.

Movie poster and book cover art[edit]

For articles about specific films, can we include the image of the theater poster and/or DVD box art under the "fair use" (or some other) policy as Wikipedia does? Same question for book covers: can an article about a vintage book show the cover from a recent reprint?. -- (Jameslovebirch, Nov. 12)

No sorry, we do not permit copyrighted images under fair use at this time. See Spanking Art:Image use policy for more on this topic. For book covers, it depends on the cover. If the cover image is a public domain image, then I believe a reproduction of the book cover is not an infringement of copyrights irrespective of whether it is old or a recent reprint. See Image:Frank and i.jpg for such an example. I may be wrong on this, though. If the cover art is recent (from after the 1930s), then there's a high chance of it still being copyrighted and we can't use it here. Category:Books has 3 more examples of book photos.

Broken Images[edit]

Hey, I noticed a couple of broken images (which distorted the front page) I determined the cause to be the use of special characters in the image title. I reuploaded one http://spankingartwiki.animeotk.com/wiki/Image:1902_Les_Flagellants_et_les_flagell%C3%A9s_de_Paris.jpg removing the é which caused the problem, and deleted the other (two copies of the same image) as there was no licencing information for it. In future to fix this issue all you need to do is reupload the image replacing any special characters with a suitable substitute.

I personally would prefer a real fix of course -- we did not have this problem with thumbnail creation for images that have special characters in the file name before October 2008 -- but I had already talked to Stoner last year about this and he couldn't find out the cause either. --Spankart ^(talk) 19:44, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
