Trampling is the act of walking on something repeatedly so that it gains pressure effects.

The trampling of animals has various effects on the soil, such as compacting or creating mud. It also influences the growth, and lack of growth, of specific types of vegetation.

Sexual activity[edit]

Trampling refers to the sexual activity that involves being trampled underfoot by another person or persons. Trampling is common enough to support a subgenre of trampling pornography. When done between two (or more) men it is often refered to as stomping and can sometimes be associated with gay skinhead fetishism. Although not implying the same degree of violence the word normally suggests, considerable force may sometimes be used.

Because trampling can be used to produce pain, the trampling fetish for some adherents is closely linked to sadomasochistic fetishism. Particular care is needed if the trampler is wearing shoes with stiletto heels (a popular fantasy), as such heels can exert great pressure over a small area.

The most common form of trampling is done by a female and male walking on a male or female submissive and is usually done barefooted, in socks, nylons, or shoes. The trampler will predominantly walk, jump and stomp on the person's back, buttocks, chest, stomach, genitalia, face and in some rare instances, the neck.

A similar fetish is to imagine themselves as being tiny under another's feet, or being normal size, but being trampled by a giant person. This is known as "giant/giantess fetishism" or macrophilia. It is not the same as trampling.

The trampling fetish is not to be confused with crushing fetishism, which involves the crushing of objects other than people beneath the feet. While they are both sexual expressions linked to pressing with the feet, they are not the same fetish.
