Kicking is making thrusting movements with one's leg. A kick can be either into the air (practice kicking, uncontrolled kicking, helpless kicking) or to hit an object with one's foot. The latter can be in order to give the object a blow (e.g. kicking a ball) or, if the kicked object is an animal or human, in order to cause that individual physical pain. Kicking as a form of attack is also an important element in martial arts and combat sports. It is also the term used for the leg portion of swimming.
Kicking and spanking
In spanking, the spankee may start kicking either before the spanking (as a sign of resistance) or during the spanking when the pain becomes so intense that their legs kick involuntarily. That is, when being physically punished, the pain of the spanking makes the spankee want to stop the pain by getting away and one way to do so would be to flail the legs to that the spanker can not continue spanking.
Depending on the spanking position, such kicking may hinder the continuation of the spanking, especially whenever the spankee's legs or feet can hit the spanker or block the access to the spankee's buttocks. On the other hand, some spankers find that kicking makes a nice sight and is also a good signal that tells that the spankee is approaching his or her pain limits. Therefore there are two approaches to the spankee's kicking:
- to take measures to stop any kicking at all, ideally making the spankee keep perfectly still
- to take measures to limit the kicking such that it is no trouble
For 1), there is verbal instruction ("Stop kicking at once, keep your legs still or else..."), there are spanking positions that make kicking difficult or impossible (e.g. those where the spankee's weight rests on his/her feet), and there is bondage, typically in the form of restraining the spankee onto an item of spanking furniture in a way that makes leg movement impossible.
For 2), again there is verbal instruction, there are physical measures such as locking the spankee's legs between the spanker's legs, and 'semi-bondage' such as pulling the spankee's pants down to his/her ankles which limits his/her ability to kick to some degree. One can also use types of bondage that allow a certain freedom of movement — allowing e.g. to bend the knee from 180 to 120 degrees, but no more.
