Czech Republic
The Czech Republic (Czech: Česká republika) is a country in Eastern Europe. Its population is over 10 million and its official language is Czech. Its capital and largest city is Prague.
The Czech state, formerly known as Bohemia, was formed in the late 9th century as a duchy, ruled by the Great Moravian Empire, and later by the Přemyslids. The duchy became a kingdom in 1212 and was ruled by a series of dukes and kings. After the Battle of Mohács in 1526, Bohemia was integrated into the Habsburg monarchy, which ruled over Austria-Hungary. The Bohemian Revolt in the early 17th century led to the further centralization of the monarchy, but radical reforms in the 18th century led to the abolishment of the Bohemian Crown. The Republic of Czechoslovakia was formed in 1918 after World War I. During World War II, Czechoslovakia was occupied by Nazi Germany, and was liberated by the Soviet Union. Czechoslovakia became a communist state after the war until the 1989 Velvet Revolution, and was dissolved in 1993 to form the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
The Czech Republic is now one of the most developed countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the third most peaceful one in Europe. It is governed by a parliamentary republic, with the President as the head of state and the Prime Minister as the head of government. It is also a member of NATO, the European Union, and other international organizations.
Spanking in the Czech Republic[edit]
Corporal punishment, especially spanking, has a long tradition in the Czech Republic. Spanking, in Czech, is called výprask, naplácat (a "little kid" word), nasekat (for bigger kids), nařezat (a more severe spanking), seřezat (a more severe spanking, a thrashing), and mrskat (birching, whipping, switching).
As of 2008, the Czech Republic is the only country in Europe where school corporal punishment is still legal. However, it should be noted that it is actually no longer practiced.
Easter Monday[edit]
Boys traditionally awake young, nubile girls on the morning after Easter by dowsing them with water and whipping them on their buttocks or legs with a pomlázka, a special switch made from eight braided willow branches. The dowsing and whipping is thought to chase away illness and bad spirits, and to bring good luck, wealth and rich harvest for the whole year. (See Easter and spanking.)
Vařečková challenge[edit]
The Vařečková challenge ("wooden spoon challenge") is a spanking challenge popular in the Czech speaking world.
Spanking artists and authors[edit]
A well-known Czech spanking artist is Jiří Winter, also known as Neprakta. A photographic artist is Jan Saudek. Other spanking artists who are believed to be Czech are K and V-TEC.

Spanking video producers[edit]
Lupus Pictures (formerly Rigid East) is a well-known and highly regarded spanking movie production company based in Prague. A number of their films were inspired by local folklore such as Fairy Tale, Fairy Tale 2: The Magic Purse, And for You I Will Come as Well, and The Warlock's Revenge (filmed in a Medieval castle; see video).
Lupus has also created many lavishly produced historical period piece films about life in Czechoslovakia. The various eras include the 1900s (Governess, From the Headmaster's Study series, et al.), the 1920s (The Great Role, Tales from the Sin District series), and the 1930s (The Kidnapping of the Butcher's Daughter). Several films set in the early 1950s (the Comrade Balcar, Red Reformatory and Stalin series) reflect an anti-Communist sentiment with parodies and critiques of the Stalinist era.
Bound Heat Films is a Canadian production company based in the Czech Republic that makes sexploitation films. They specialize in R-rated women in prison films, science fiction stories about white slavery, and erotic historical fantasies. Most of their movies feature lesbianism and fetishistic scenes of bondage, whipping, and domination. Titles include: Dark Confessions (2000), Bound Cargo (2003), School of Surrender (2005), Slave Huntress (2007), Mistress of Souls (2007), Caligula's Spawn (2009), and Slave Tears of Rome (2011).
