Babysitter
A babysitter is a person who temporarily watches over a child while the parents are absent as a paid or unpaid caregiver. A babysitter can be a family member, such as an older brother or sister, a grandfather or grandmother, an uncle or an aunt. A babysitter can also be a friend of the parents, a neighbour, or a person who does babysitting services (semi-)professionally.
The child to be watched can be any age, from baby, toddler, preteen up to teenage, so babysitting can be a misleading or belittling term. This has lead to the more generic title of sitter who sits for the minor instead.
Babysitting is mostly done in the evenings to allow parents to leave the home to attend social events or enjoy time alone. Therefore, a babysitter's tasks often involve getting the child ready for and into bed. Another time is during school holidays when the child would otherwise be home alone.
Babysitting and discipline[edit]

The babysitter acts in an in loco parentis role, i.e. they are expected and required to temporarily assume the role of a parent. This includes the special rights and responsibilities that parents have. Generally, the child's parents will expect the babysitter to enforce good behavior and discipline. Some parents go as far as encouraging the babysitter to spank the child if felt necessary and inform the child before they leave that they explicitly give the babysitter spanking permission.
Babysitting scenes in roleplay[edit]
In roleplay, a babysitter scene can be normal ageplay, but it also offers a further possibility for three players. A switch playing a babysitter can be both a spanker and spankee in a single roleplaying session. The sitter can assume temporary authority over the "child", while still being subjected to their own (or their charge's) guardian.

Most spanking videos produced since the 1980s depict F/f scenarios with strict or sadistic babysitters disciplining misbehaving teens or bratty "children" (roleplaying adult actors). A smaller percentage portrays "bad" sitters being punished by disgruntled parents, et al.
