Austria
Austria, officially the Republic of Austria (German: Republik Österreich), is a country in Western Europe. Its population is about 8.4 million and its official language is (Austrian) German. Austria is a largely mountainous country due to its location in the Alps. Its capital and largest city is Vienna. Vienna itself represents about a quarter of the country's population.
The history of Austria dates back to the time of the Habsburg Dynasty, when the vast majority of the country was part of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Austria became a major power in Europe and, in response to the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte as the Emperor of the French, the Austrian Empire was officially proclaimed in 1804. In 1867, the empire was reformed into Austria-Hungary. The Austro-Hungarian Empire collapsed after World War I (1914-1918). In 1938, Austria was occupied and annexed by Nazi Germany and remained so until the end of World War II (1939-1945), after which Austria was restored as a republic, and officially became a sovereign state in 1955.
Austria is now governed by a parliamentary republic, with the President as the head of state and the Chancellor as the head of government. It is a highly developed country with high standards of living, and is one of the richest countries in the world. It is also a member of the European Union, United Nations, and other international organizations. Austria is and was home to many great musicians, writers, and scientists, including familiar names such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Sigmund Freud.
Spanking in Austria[edit]
Historically, Austria has similar spanking traditions (concerning judicial, military and school corporal punishment, and in the domestic context as well) to those of Germany and other European countries. A colloquial Austrian term for the cane (Rohrstock) is Flitschi or Stabl.
In remote rural (mountain) areas, boarding schools are not uncommon; those and Catholic schools had the reputation of being stricter than other schools.
Today, the spanking of children is illegal in Austria, both in schools and the home. Only consensual adult spanking (as in BDSM) is legal.
The biggest Austrian spanking scene is probably found in Vienna. Popular online spanking communities are often German ones, due to the same language and close proximity.
Spanking video producers[edit]
Pain4fem is an Austrian-Slovakian spanking company that produces full-length spanking videos (mostly in German) with M/F and F/F content. Some videos feature scenes of Vienna.
SM-Circus is a Vienna-based company that specializes in German-language M/F videos featuring human animal roleplay (doggie training, pony play, etc.).
Austrian spanking artists[edit]
Austrian spanking artists include Rudolf Preuss (1879 - 1961), Spanm and Sleepship.
