Artist

An artist is a person who creates art. This inludes all artistic media. However, to describe a person who creates literature, the term author is often used.

There are professional and hobby artists, and in art you often can not draw a clear line of distinction between them. A simple definition is that if you make your living with art, you're a professional artist.
